English Access Microscholarship Program

The Access English Microscholarship Program is a global exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, and has been officially launched in Vietnam since 2009. This is one of many scholarship programs and the U.S. Department exchange programs for disadvantaged students, aged 13 to 20, with the aim to provide them with English skills through after-school lessons and intensive lessons in summer. The Program also gives students the opportunity to understand American values ​​and culture, to help them integrate into the country’s socio-economic development process, thereby to have more opportunities to succeed in their studies and careers. At the same time, they will have more opportunities to participate in exchange programs and scholarships in the United States.

In 2016, the College of Machinery and Irrigation was selected as one of the typical vocational schools in Vietnam to participate in this Program. The College has selected 27 students who are eligible to participate in the Program. Through the Program, students are provided with basic English background, access to specialized English, have the opportunity and conditions to understand more about American culture, and at the same time, are equipped and practice soft skills such as English presentation skills, computer skills, and participate in field trips and volunteering activities on Green Saturday.

Students participating in the Program receive certificates of scholarships from Access Program representatives

After completing the Program, students will receive a Certificate of Program Completion by the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam. In particular, they will officially become members of the U.S. Alumni community in Vietnam and globally. English Access Microscholarship Program is also a good opportunity for students to access valuable scholarship programs or study abroad programs in the United States in the future.
