The project for Strengthening Vocational Education and Training in Vietnam by JICA

Vietnam and Japan are two ethnic groups with a long-standing relationship with many similarities in history, culture, traditions, and human values. So far, over 45 years of establishing cooperative relations, Vietnam and Japan have become increasingly important partners in many fields. Since the two countries upgraded their relationship to “extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia” (March 2014), Vietnam – Japan relations have developed strongly and comprehensively and actually.

The project for Strengthening Vocational Education and Training in Vietnam through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is one of the cooperation projects between the government of Vietnam and the government of Japan. The Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) is one of Vietnam’s vocational education institutions selected by JICA to survey and implement this Project. Through the project, the College will be invested by the Japanese Government by providing training equipment for the fields of Electrical – Electronics and Mechanical engineering, with advanced and modern technology, to meet Japanese international standards. The goal of the Project is to improve the College’s training quality by upgrading the equipment of mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering and thereby providing the Vietnamese industry with highly skilled labor.

The Experts of JICA visit and work at the VCMI

The project for Strengthening Vocational Education and Training in Vietnam is supported by JICA for the Vietnamese educational institutions in general and the VCMI in particular, which will contribute to promoting economic development and strengthen Vietnam’s international competitiveness through the growth of high skilled workers based on strengthening the vocational field.

The construction investment policy of The project for Strengthening Vocational Education and Training in Vietnam was approved by Prime Minister at the Decision No. 1432/QĐ-TTg dated 21/9/2017.

Currently, the College is preparing the best conditions for receiving vocational training equipment and sending teachers to participate in the ToT training courses organized by the project to update new technologies from the equipment of the project provided.
