Mr. Le Quoc Doanh – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development visited and worked with the College of Machinery and Irrigation

On the afternoon of November 5, 2020, Mr. Le Quoc Doanh and his delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development visited and worked with the College of Machinery and Irrigation. Mr. Nguyen Van Ha – Director General of Finance Department, Mr. Nguyen Van Lan – Head of Training Management Department, Personnel and Organization Department, Mr. Tran Gia Long – Official of Planning Department are the members of the delegation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the College and other comrades in the Party Committee, Board of Rectors and heads of departments and faculties of the College were present to welcome the delegation. On behalf of the Board of Rectors, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong expressed his honor and happiness to welcome the Deputy Minister and the delegation to visit and work with the College.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong briefly introduced the College’s development history, the results achieved in the past time as well as the mission and orientation in the period 2021-2030 of the College of Machinery and Irrigation. As a former unit under the Irrigation Construction Corporation 4-JSC, in 2013, the College was transferred directly to be under the management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, with the determination of the Party Committee, the Board of Rectors, the solidarity of the College’s collective, the College has become a prestigious vocational education institution in the system of vocational education institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as well as the system of vocational education institutions nationwide. Every year, the College always achieves above the assigned enrollment quota, the quality of training is improved, and the graduates get jobs immediately and meet the requirements of the labor market. The College was approved by the Prime Minister to invest in developing a high-quality vocational institution under the Decision No. 761/QD-TTg dated May 23, 2014; funded by the German Government to build the College into a Green Center of Excellence that plays a pioneering role in training skilled workers and technical fields related to environmental protection, using renewable energy. In the next period, with the goal of renovation and comprehensive development of vocational education, building the college into the top high-quality schools in Vietnam, and striving to become a “Green Center of Excellence” by 2030, the College has been preparing all resources in terms of human resources, facilities and financial resources.

After listening to Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong reporting the results of the College’s activities in the past time and the direction to implement activities in the upcoming time, the delegation had detailed comments on problems and clearly identified the cause, and at the same time proposed solutions to solve the immediate difficulties of the College. Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh highly appreciated the College’s autonomy to overcome difficulties and recognized the results achieved and the suggestions of the College. Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Minister directed: “In order to continue promoting the achieved achievements and development goals in the upcoming time, the College leaders, the teachers and staff should try more and more to focus on investing in modern facilities and equipment, synchronizing two facilities, strongly applying information technology in education management, doing well in international cooperation, focusing on developing the College into a unique Green center of Excellence”.

Receiving comments from the Deputy Minister, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Secretary of the Party Committee, the Rector thanked the attention and support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development during the past time since the College moved to be under the management of the Ministry. He also pledged to be with the College’s collective to build a united and strong College of Machinery and Irrigation, trying to successfully complete the political tasks assigned by the Ministry; firmly building the College’s position and reputation in the field of high-quality vocational training to meet the requirements of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector and the local economic development.

After the meeting, the Deputy Minister and the delegation visited the facilities, workshops and products of the skills competition of Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development held at the College in March 2020.
