THE GERMAN DEVELOPMENT BANK (KFW) HIGHLY APPRECIATE THE COOPERATION RESULT BETWEEN VCMI, GIZ AND KFW IN THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AT VCMI
On April 16, 2021, the Delegates from KfW development bank – Ms Simone Wunsch, Director of KfW Hanoi Office, Ms Ta Thuy Khuong Linh, Project Manager, and Mr Nhu Nguyen Hong Cuong, expert of KfW visited the College of Machinery and Irrigation to conduct a review of the project implementation and discussion with the stakeholders about the issues such as the progress of the project , disbursement, etc…
After introducing participants in the meeting, the delegates visited the College’s facilities, especially the ‘Green’ TVET Building which is under construction to have a realistic view of the changes of the College in general and the progress of the project in particular before having any specific discussions with VCMI. During the visit, the delegates highly appreciated the results of cooperation between VCMI, GIZ and KfW as well as the commitment of VCMI’s managers and teachers. “when I visited VCMI last time, the rector told me which building will be built in which area. Today, when I come to visit again and see that the buildings have been built with all the necessary functions, ensure the teaching and the learning, just like what he said. I truly highly appreciate this. ” said Ms Simone Wunsch

Beginning the discussion, Mr Nguyen Van Chuong briefly spoke about the progress of the project implementation, the results achieved from both the technical cooperation and financial cooperation components, advantages and disadvantages during the project implementation, suggested KfW have the necessary supports so that the project can perform on schedule and achieve the expected results. Mr Nhu Nguyen Hong Cuong, as a construction consultant, evaluated that the construction progress of the ‘Green’ TVET building is ahead of the schedule; management reporting system on work quality is complete and detailed; reporting is on time; Safety and hygiene conditions for construction workers on site are guaranteed.
The delegated also discussed with VCMI and related parties about plans to implement upcoming works such as the next construction schedule of the ‘Green’ building, schedule of elaboration of equipment list and detailed specifications for 2 new occupations, upcoming bidding plans, etc ..The parties discussed and gave solutions to speed up the project implementation. On behalf of the Delegates, Ms Simone Wunsch promised to support VCMI in the project implementation and looked forward to further cooperation with VCMI not only in the ongoing project but also in other projects in the future.
